3rd Grade - January 2021

In third grade, we are excited to start some new projects in the new quarter. We are finishing up our first book clubs with a final google slide project on our books. When we are done with those, we will start a new book club with new books! We are also getting into some harder spelling words in all three of our groups. We are also going to start a vocabulary book and play some fun vocabulary games this semester. We are almost done learning all of the lowercase letters in cursive and will continue to learn the capital letters this quarter.

In science, we have started to learn about simple machines and work. We are also going to start learning about energy and sound. The physical science unit is usually pretty difficult for 3rd grade, but we are ready to take on the challenge.

In social studies we will be diving into some Black History Month projects and are eager to learn about the many people who fought for social justice. We are also going to learn about Jazz legends like Dizzy Gilespie and Etta James and how they shaped the music industry and the music we listen to today.

In math, we just finished up all of the 1-10 factors and are learning our multiplication facts. Our class loves multiplication!

We are looking forward to National Lutheran Schools Week and all the fun activities that come with that! We are also looking forward to showing our love for our school and community by serving others!
