7th & 8th Grade - September 2026

Our 7th and 8th graders have had an awesome start to the school year! They have been working hard, settling into routines, and showing great effort across their classes. 

In English, students have been learning about sentence mechanics and delving deeper into what they already know about nouns. They have already covered two units and have been on top of their game, especially as they work through review questions together. 

In Literature, students are studying medieval times while focusing on the theme of identity. This month, they read The Castle Diary of Tobias Burgess and began their journey through The Canterbury Tales. Next month, they will continue reading Chaucer’s work, prepare to write their own stories, and learn more about how our identity is rooted in Christ.

In math, students have been working with operations involving integers, numerical expressions, and exponents. In science, they have been learning about lab safety and the classification of living things. Social studies has focused on U.S. history, including the colonization of America, Plymouth, and the Massachusetts Bay Colony. In Religion, students have been studying the book of Genesis, learning more about God’s creation, His promises, and His faithful care throughout history. 

In Art, students have been exploring color blending with crayons, colored pencils, and watercolor. It has been wonderful to see their creativity, effort, and growth as they use their God-given gifts and try new techniques. We are proud of the way our 7th and 8th graders have begun the year and look forward to seeing them continue to grow in learning, faith, and leadership.
