As we reflect on the past several weeks at Trinity Lutheran School, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the many ways God continues to bless our school family.

It has been a busy and productive month in 7th and 8th grade as students continue to tackle new concepts, explore hands-on learning, and grow in confidence and responsibility. In science, we studied the periodic table and how elements interact to form new substances, exploring covalent and ionic bonds and discussing the differences between compounds and mixtures. November has been a special month in our classroom—a time to reflect, give thanks, and enjoy the many blessings God has poured into our lives.

Fourth-grade students kicked off November with an exciting field trip to Des Moines to cheer on the Iowa Wild hockey team at Casey’s Center.

We’ve been studying how God created all things and made human beings in His image (Genesis 1:27).

November has been a great month for second grade! Our classroom has been full of excitement, learning, and lots of cozy reading moments.

In first grade, we have been busy exploring God’s amazing world! In reading and science, we began learning about how God created the animals and gave each one unique features to help them live and grow. Students loved discovering how wonderfully God designed every creature.

It’s been another great month in Kindergarten! We are working on a very exciting project—our own class book!

The 7th and 8th graders have been busy diving into learning across all subjects this fall!

We’ve had a great month in 5th and 6th grade! Everyone is settling into routines, and we’ve been diving into some great lessons and discussions. In math, both grades have been strengthening foundational skills while building on new concepts. Fourth-grade Literature groups have been reading and discussing two unique books: The Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and Little House On The Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Students have enjoyed reading about survival adventures in both stories, practicing skills such as foreshadowing, making predictions, and identifying character traits. Our third graders had the wonderful opportunity to lead chapel this month! Our theme was “Salvation is a free gift from God—not something we can earn,” based on Ephesians 2:8-9.
