“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
This beloved verse is one many of us know well. Yet, to fully understand it, let us understand the word “gave.”
To give means “to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation.” God’s gift of His Son, Jesus, for our salvation is the ultimate expression of love. Eternal life, forgiveness, and grace—these are gifts freely given to us. Through this example, we see that giving is how God reveals His love, and giving is how we, in turn, can share love with others.
We give our time. We give patience. We give support. We give kindness, grace, and encouragement. In all these acts, we reflect God’s love. As 1 John 4:19 reminds us, “We love because He first loved us.”
We are especially grateful to the members of Trinity Lutheran Church and School who continue to give so generously to bless our school community. Together, as a Trinity family, we provide our children with a safe, nurturing environment where they can grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally.
We ask for your continued prayers for the families, teachers, and students of Trinity Lutheran School throughout the school year. May God’s love guide us as we work together to fulfill His purpose.
“Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 15:57
