Spring has arrived, and our 3rd-grade classroom is soaking in the sunshine and beauty all around us! From blooming flowers to joyful playground moments, we’re reminded daily of God’s creativity and goodness. We were especially thankful to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus and reflect on His love and grace during Easter break.
This month, students completed their ISASP assessments with great effort and positive attitudes—we're proud of their hard work! In math, we wrapped up a unit on equivalent fractions, using hands-on tools to understand how different fractions can represent the same value. In social studies, we explored government and how laws are made, connecting big ideas to real-life experiences. Science had us studying rocks—igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic—and how they form.
In ELA, we’ve been strengthening our writing with adjectives and adverbs, making our stories more descriptive and fun to read. In art, we tied in our science learning with upcycled toy sculptures, focusing on 3D form and recycling. The results were both creative and meaningful!
We also enjoyed a fantastic field trip to the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad! Riding the train through Iowa’s spring landscape helped us see history come alive. Thank you, church family, for your prayers and support.
