Kindergarten - April 2025

Kindergarteners spent much of April learning about and celebrating the passion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. Through Bible stories, songs, and crafts, we reflected on the incredible love Jesus showed us and the joy we have in His resurrection.

Mrs. Callahan, our student teacher, has been leading most of our lessons this month. She’s doing a wonderful job, and the children love her creativity and the fun ways she helps them learn.

In Literacy, one of our favorite activities was the “What’s in My Egg?” project, where each child hid an item in a plastic egg, wrote clues about it, and presented them to the class. We also continued working on sight words, sounding out words, handwriting, and learning digraphs—sh, ch, th, wh, and ck.

In Math, we’ve been exploring addition and subtraction. Through games and hands-on activities, the students are developing confidence and building a strong number sense.

Science has been extra exciting as we’ve been learning all about butterflies! We’re raising painted lady butterflies in the classroom and studying their life cycle. On April 25, we took a field trip to the butterfly wing at Reiman Gardens, where we got to see butterflies up close and explore a beautiful indoor garden.

It’s been a month full of wonder, growth, and joyful learning. As we look ahead to the final weeks of school, we’re excited to continue exploring, creating, and celebrating all that our kindergarteners have accomplished this year. Thank you for your continued support and for sharing in these special moments with us!
