Kindergarten - March 2026

March is such an exciting, hopeful month! In our Lent devotion, we have been reviewing Jesus’ life and looking forward to his great work for us. Spring has officially arrived, and we’ve had warm weather! We have had fun at recess and enjoyed having PE outside. 

In Art, we did a directed drawing of Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat. STEM has been focused on our classroom robots this month. We’ve learned how to use them and have faced various challenges, such as getting them to drive in a continuous loop. 

We had to cancel our Forest Friday this month due to lightning and thunder. Once the storm was over, we went out to play in the puddles! The first week of March, we celebrated Read Across America Week with dress-up days and special activities. During that week, parents and other special adults came into our class to read their favorite books to us: the children loved it! Literacy continues to focus on sounding out words, reading speed, and accuracy. It is fun and amazing for me to see children who came to me unable to sound out a single word just a few short months ago now enjoying reading simple books! Their writing skills are also greatly improved! Check out our “Reading Bug” writing activity in our hallway! 

This month in Math, we finished a unit on coins: pennies and dimes, and started one on addition. The kids were excited to use + and = symbols. We give thanks to God for this joyful season of learning!
