Kindergarten - May 2026

Kindergarteners have grown so much this year! The children who came to me, not even knowing all their letter names or sounds, can now read whole books! I’m so proud of each and every one of them, and grateful for the privilege of spending the year with them.

We finished up the year with two field trips. We toured Salama’s nursery, and the children helped me plant my garden to celebrate Iowa Kids Garden Day on May 15. Then we visited the Iowa Arboretum, where the director taught us about plants, and we had a picnic with our families on May 19 to celebrate our wonderful year. The annual track meet was a lot of fun, a good way to showcase the skills we have been learning in PE, and to practice good sportsmanship.

Even in the midst of many year-end celebrations, our learning wasn’t over! We were still doing lots of reading, writing, and math till the last day. In STEM, we learned about seeds and planted our own.

Outside of regular academics, Kindergarteners have grown in their ability to be kind and forgiving, to problem-solve, and to have confidence in themselves! Most importantly, they have grown in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
