December has been a whirlwind of fun in our classroom! Between preparing for the Christmas service, learning about Advent, playing in the beautiful snow, completing daily acts of kindness, and keeping up with our regular learning, our days have been full and joyful.
In math, we started a new chapter and refreshed our subtraction skills, practicing different strategies and building confidence as we worked through problems together. In English, we enjoyed creative writing activities such as writing letters to members of our congregation, making silly lists of gifts for our teacher, and journaling about the many interesting ways our classroom snowman melted. These activities encouraged kindness, creativity, and thoughtful expression.
In social studies, we spent time learning about Advent and the birth of Jesus, helping students understand why this season is so special. Our reading incentive program, Cocoa for Reading, continues to be a favorite, with many students already reading 21 books or more.
We are looking forward to more fun ways to learn and reflect together. We are thankful for this joyful season and the opportunity to celebrate the miracle of Advent and the birth of our Savior.
