4th Grade - December 2025

December was a busy and exciting month in fourth grade, filled with meaningful learning and festive experiences. We began work on a personal timeline project, where students explored important milestones from their own lives. Parents played a special role by helping students “remember” meaningful moments to include on their timelines. We look forward to resuming this project after Christmas Break using the Canva platform, where students will bring their timelines to life digitally. In math, we’ve moved into long division. While it has been challenging, fourth graders have shown true grit by sticking to the process and persevering through difficult problems.

On December 5th, fourth grade was well represented at the first annual CHRISTkindl Market, with nine students participating from our classroom. Students contributed in a big way by offering baked goods, vintage Hot Wheels cars, artwork, and crafts. This experience gave students valuable insight into taking ownership of their work, understanding responsibility, and learning how their efforts can help support Trinity Lutheran School.

On December 12th, fourth graders participated in the Trinity All-School Christmas Service, sharing song and Scripture as part of this joyful celebration. It was wonderful to see students confidently share the Good News and help point hearts to the true meaning of Christmas.

Another highlight came on December 18th when we enjoyed a field trip to the Boone Movie Theatre for a private showing of The Star. The walk back to school was a cold and windy adventure, complete with a pause for a passing train! December also included a novel study of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, which brought plenty of laughter and meaningful discussion as students reflected on the true “reason for the season”—the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

We concluded December with our classroom Christmas party on December 19th, featuring an energetic game of bingo, sweet treats, and a gift exchange. Our class was also blessed through the Giving Tree with new games and Lego building platforms for indoor recess—gifts that will continue to bring joy well beyond the Christmas season.
