March has brought a sense of both accomplishment and anticipation as we move into the final stretch of our school year. With this month giving us a refreshing Spring Break, students were ready to learn, create, and finish strong.

In English, both fifth and sixth grade wrapped up their grammar units with cumulative reviews and exams. Seventh and eighth grade are currently finishing their final grammar unit as well. These past months have been full of important skill-building, and next, all grade levels will begin applying what they have learned to writing assignments. It is always exciting to see students take the tools of grammar and begin using them with confidence and purpose.

In Literature, each grade has launched into its final module of the year. Fifth grade will be reading We Are the Ship by Kadir Nelson, exploring the history and impact of the Negro Leagues. Sixth grade is beginning The Call of the Wild by Jack London, a powerful story of survival and instinct. Seventh- and eighth-grade students will be reading Claudette Colvin by Phillip Hoose, highlighting courage and conviction during the Civil Rights Movement.

In Math, fifth grade is wrapping up perimeter and area through real-world applications, including designing their own homes, and will soon move into fractions and decimals. Sixth grade is finishing dividing decimals while exploring their connection to fractions and using technology to support understanding. Both grades continue building problem-solving skills through measurement and real-world applications, reflecting the ordered world God created.

We have also enjoyed continuing preparations for Seussical Jr. Rehearsals are in full swing, and students are putting in great effort as the performance draws closer. Their enthusiasm and teamwork have made this especially rewarding to watch.

As we move through March, we look ahead with joy to celebrating Easter. This season provides a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the hope and new life we have through Christ, a message at the heart of all we do.
