It has been a busy and engaging time in 7th and 8th grade as students continue to grow academically, creatively, and through hands-on learning experiences.

In Science, students have been studying electricity and learning about the scientists who helped shape our understanding of it, including Thomas Edison and Benjamin Franklin. This unit has helped students see how innovation and discovery continue to impact our daily lives. In Math, students are applying percents to real-world situations while also solving systems of equations and working with inequalities, strengthening their algebraic thinking and problem-solving skills.

In Reading, students are exploring Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, working through his language while discovering the humor and relationships within the story. In Social Studies, students are studying early forms of government and how those systems have influenced the structure of our nation today.

Creativity has been on display in Art as students completed charcoal animal drawings and experimented with abstract designs, using line and color to show dimension. Some students also explored haiku writing, blending creativity with thoughtful expression. In Robotics, students have been coding micro:bits to create pedometers, compasses, and message transmitters, building both technical skills and collaboration.

Outside the classroom, students have been busy preparing for Seussical Jr., bringing energy and enthusiasm to rehearsals. They are also looking ahead to the start of soccer season and the opportunities it brings for teamwork and growth.

We are proud of the effort, creativity, and leadership our 7th and 8th graders continue to demonstrate each day and look forward to all that is ahead.
