From the Principal's Desk - February 2026

As we look back on the month of February and step into the season of Lent, we are reminded of the greatest truth we could ever share with our students: God loves us.

February often brings celebrations centered on love and kindness, but as a Lutheran school, we are continually drawn back to the source of true love. Lent gives us the opportunity to reflect more deeply on what that love means. Romans 5:8 reminds us,

“God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

The cross is the clearest picture of God’s love — a love that does not depend on our effort or goodness, but flows from His mercy and grace.

Throughout Lent, our students are hearing the story of Jesus’ journey to the cross again. They are learning that this season is not simply about giving something up, but about remembering what Christ gave for us. In love, He took our place. In love, He bore our sin. In love, He opened the way to forgiveness and eternal life.

In chapel, in classrooms, and in quiet moments of prayer, we are helping our students see that this love is personal. Jesus did not go to the cross in general — He went for each one of us. That truth gives comfort, confidence, and hope in every season.

That message shapes our school each day. When students practice kindness, show patience, forgive a classmate, or serve one another, they reflect the love that Christ first showed them. We do not act in love to earn God’s favor — we act in love because we already have it.

As we continue through Lent, may our hearts be anchored in this truth: we are deeply loved by God. May that love guide our learning, our relationships, and our faith as we journey together toward the joy of Easter morning.
