2nd Grade - September 2026
Second grade has had a great start to the year! The students have been working hard, settling into routines, and growing in confidence as they begin a new school year together.
In math, we have been reviewing our addition skills and building a strong foundation for the year ahead. We have already finished our first chapter and are off to a great start in chapter two, where students are learning about regrouping numbers and telling time.
In ELA, we are learning about the important parts of a sentence while also reviewing our phonics skills. Students have also completed their FAST assessments, which will help us measure growth throughout the year.
In science, we are learning about a Christian worldview and how science helps us better understand and appreciate God’s creation. In social studies, we have been learning about the Constitution and how laws are put in place to help protect and guide us.
In art, students have already completed lessons using lines and have practiced depicting what they see outside in the soggy fall weather we have been having. It has been wonderful to see their creativity and effort as they begin the year!
