Peace in the Lord! What a joy it is to announce the two newest additions to our classroom. We have 4th grader Lukas Hutt and 5th grader Aubrey Westfall joining us. Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” So thankful to those that value the Lord. We are still reading the novel Sophia’s War by AVI. We are continuing studying story elements through the theme of the American Revolution. Students are writing their own short story focusing on how to develop the climax with climbing action.
Sixth grade is continuing work on seeing how characters grow and change over the course of a story. They have been engaged in developing descriptive writings using similes and metaphors. Be sure to ask them about this concept. I know they would love to sing it for you.
Seventh and Eighth grade have finished their Short Story Reviews and character analysis project. The coming weeks will focus on connecting their Short Story review to Biblical truths and Christian character. They are working on inferencing as a tool to understand and make conclusions.
All 4th through 8th grade students are participating in pen pal communications with the RSVP program. This is a big hit with the students and we are so thankful to those who volunteer. We would like to say thank you for gifting us with sea shells, postcards, stickers, and your time.
