It has been a busy and productive month in 7th and 8th grade as students continue to tackle new concepts, explore hands-on learning, and grow in confidence and responsibility.

In science, we studied the periodic table and how elements interact to form new substances, exploring covalent and ionic bonds and discussing the differences between compounds and mixtures. This unit has sparked great curiosity as students see how chemistry shapes the world God created.

In math, we have been writing and solving real-world inequalities. As we prepare for the Christkindl Market, students have also been calculating markups, profit margins, and discussing tithing—an engaging blend of math, entrepreneurship, and faith in action.

In social studies, we wrapped up our study of the Transcontinental Railroad and explored how this advancement transformed travel, trade, and life in the United States. In Language Arts, we focused on adverbs, verb phrases, adjectives, and comparative and superlative forms—skills that help students communicate more effectively.

Outside the classroom, basketball season began with our opening tournament in Denison, and we are proud of the teamwork and sportsmanship our athletes displayed. Student Council also sponsored a school-wide food drive, collecting over 800 donated items—a tremendous blessing for families in need.

We are grateful for our students’ enthusiasm and hard work and look forward to all that is ahead in the coming weeks!
