In first grade, we have been busy exploring God’s amazing world! In reading and science, we began learning about how God created the animals and gave each one unique features to help them live and grow. Students loved discovering how wonderfully God designed every creature.
In math, we learned how to count dimes, nickels, and pennies. The students are becoming confident money counters and enjoy practicing with pretend coins.
In social studies, we are studying geography and the beautiful landforms and bodies of water that God created. Mountains, valleys, oceans, and rivers have filled our discussions as we learn about the world around us.
We also enjoyed an exciting field trip to the Blank Park Zoo, where we saw many of the animals we’ve been learning about up close!
Another special moment this month was when our class had the opportunity to lead chapel. The students shared the message of Jesus and reminded everyone how important it is to be thankful in all things—even when things don’t go our way. We are thankful for all the ways God is helping us learn and grow each day!
