Reflecting upon our school year theme from John 15:5:

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

We focus on the term "connections." In our faith journey, connections play a vital role, binding us together as a community and strengthening our relationship with God.

First and foremost, our connection with God is the foundation of our Lutheran faith. Through prayer, worship, and the study of His Word, we deepen this divine connection. Psalm 145:18 reminds us, "The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth."

This connection with our Heavenly Father is the source of our strength and comfort.

We are also blessed with connections to one another as a family of believers. Our Lutheran schools serve as nurturing environments where these connections are forged and deepened. Through education, friendship, and shared experiences, we build bonds that last a lifetime. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." In our Lutheran schools, we sharpen each other's faith and character.

Furthermore, our connection with the world around us is essential. As Lutherans, we are called to be Christ's ambassadors, spreading His love and grace to others. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commissions us, saying, "Go and make disciples of all nations.”

Through community service, outreach, and missions, we strengthen our connection to the broader world, sharing the Gospel’s transformative power.

Let us rejoice in the connections we have with our loving God, our fellow believers, and the world. Let us cherish the Lutheran education that fosters these connections, equipping us to be lights in the world.

May we continue to grow in faith, deepening our connections with God and one another. Through prayer, study, and acts of kindness, let us honor the teachings of Martin Luther and the legacy of Lutheran education.
