Kindergarten - May 2024

Kindergarteners have grown so much this year!

The children who started the year not even knowing all their letter names or sounds can now read whole books! I’m so proud of each and every one of them, and I’m grateful for the privilege of spending the year with them.

We wrapped up the year with a field trip on May 20th. We visited the Iowa Arboretum, where the director taught us about plants, and we enjoyed a picnic with our families to celebrate our wonderful year together. The annual track meet was another highlight—a fun way to showcase the skills we’ve been learning in PE and practice good sportsmanship.

Even in the midst of all the year-end celebrations, our learning isn’t done! We’re still reading, practicing math, and in STEM, we’re learning about insects and have planted our own seeds.

Beyond academics, the Kindergarteners have grown in their ability to be kind and forgiving, to problem-solve, and to have confidence in themselves. Most importantly, they have grown in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
