Kindergarten - May 2025

Kindergarteners have grown in incredible ways this year! It’s hard to believe that some began not yet knowing all their letter names or sounds—and now they’re confidently reading full books. Their progress in both academics and character has been such a joy to witness, and I’m truly grateful for the privilege of spending the year with them.

We wrapped up the year with two special field trips. On May 19, we visited the Iowa Arboretum, where the director taught us about plants, and we celebrated with a family picnic—a wonderful way to reflect on the year together. Then on May 21, we toured Salama’s Nursery and planted our classroom garden to celebrate Iowa Kids Garden Day. The annual track meet was another exciting event that allowed students to put their PE skills into action while practicing teamwork and sportsmanship.

Even as we enjoy these end-of-year activities, the learning hasn’t stopped. We’re still growing as readers and mathematicians, and in STEM, we’ve been exploring insects and planting seeds—connecting science with hands-on discovery.

Perhaps most meaningful of all has been the growth we’ve seen in kindness, problem-solving, and confidence. These young learners are developing not just academically, but also in how they care for others and carry themselves. Most importantly, they’ve grown in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. What a gift this year has been!
