This spring preschoolers have been learning about the changes in weather, our environment, and in nature. We have been amazed by watching tiny caterpillars grow into big fuzzy caterpillars and we are now anxiously awaiting the emergence of the butterflies that have been morphing in their chrysalises. God is AMAZING!
Spring changes are such a natural way to use our math skills for measuring bean and chia growth, counting how many different seeds fit in a dish and graphing our changing weather days!
We have continued our journey to master letter identification (upper and lowercase) through games, books, songs and letter writing. The joy we share when we read stories and send letters to others is a daily blessing. Let us know if you would like a letter from our class--we’d gladly send you one!
The warmer weather has allowed us to take some of our learning outside as we walked our neighborhood noticing spring changes, picking up litter and talking about how God wants us to take care of the earth just as we take care of each other. We’ve enjoyed playing with soccer balls, practicing hitting balls off t’s, hopscotch and using our imaginations as our play equipment became the giant’s castle from Jack and the Beanstalk. We are blessed with endless energy & joy!
“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.” Preschoolers have learned that not only did Jesus commission the apostles in Matthew 28:16-20 to go forth and share the life and love of Jesus but we are called to do the same. We are not to “hide it (our faith) under a bushel. No! <We’re> gonna let it shine.” May you let the light of Jesus shine in you brightly today and always!
