The school year is off to a great start in 5th and 6th grade! We’ve enjoyed settling into our routines, building friendships, and beginning many exciting lessons and activities.
To kick things off, both grades celebrated with Water Day—a wonderful way to build community and enjoy time together. The 5th graders also visited the Westrum family farm, where they learned more about agriculture and experienced God’s creation in action.
In Literature, the 6th graders have begun reading Bud, Not Buddy, sparking conversations about perseverance and hope. The 5th graders are learning about the Nez Perce people and practicing how to write informational summaries. Both grades have also completed Unit 1 in Language Arts, strengthening their understanding of sentence structure and grammar.
In Religion, we’ve been learning how God gave His people His Word and preserved it throughout history so that we may know Him and His promises today. Students are connecting Scripture to their own lives, seeing how God’s Word continues to guide us.
We’re thankful for such a strong beginning and look forward to the ways God will continue to bless our classroom with growth, learning, and joyful moments in the months ahead!
