“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.”1 Thessalonians 5:16-24
The last week of January we had the opportunity to join a network of nearly 2,000
LCMS preschools, elementary schools and high schools in celebrating National Lutheran
Schools Week. Taking this public opportunity to proclaim and celebrate God’s work in
Lutheran schools is a special privilege.
Together with over 250,000 Lutheran school students we celebrate the opportunity to
provide children with not only excellent academic preparation, but the ability to daily
share Jesus’ amazing love with our students and their families.
Our Trinity Lutheran School is an amazing incubator for faithful witness of God’s love through Christ by teachers, students, volunteers and workers. The celebration of what God is doing within our school continues each day as students walk through the doors of
Trinity.
We celebrate with the choir as students sing from their heart of the steadfast love God
has for them, and the grace freely given to each of us.
We celebrate with the preschoolers, who are learning to share and work together to
explore God’s wonderful creation.
We celebrate as our 7th graders teach and encourage the 3rd graders in a game of
football.
We celebrate dedicated teachers who find new and creative ways to connect students
to learning.
We celebrate students reconciling and offering forgiveness to one another.
We celebrate the joy students find in attaining their goals.
We celebrate the opportunities to witness to the community through singing and
service.
We celebrate with our sports teams as they work together to glorify God in their play.
We celebrate the interactions our grades have with one another through chapel
families, reading buddies, and special activities.
We celebrate together as we join our classmates in prayer each day.
We celebrate a congregation that values and supports a Christian education.
We celebrate Trinity Lutheran Church and School and the good work God is doing,
and has planned, for His purpose.
I ask you to pray for our school year that each child, teacher, and family be blessed
with the loving presence of our Almighty God today and every day of the 2019-2020 school
year!
